Aqua One Centers (AOCs)
NaCSA so far established nearly 775 Aqua Farmer Welfare Societies in the coastal states of the country. As the society farmers have encountered diseases problems in culture operations affecting their economic returns, NaCSA started establishing Aquaculture Labs for the benefit of these society farmers in their farming zones. These aqua labs are called Aqua One Centers (AOCs). NaCSA has established ten such aqua labs in different states as per the details given at the end of this brochure. The aqua labs will provide testing facilities near to the farming area and technical support to the farmers to have a disease-free shrimp production.
AOC assist the farmers to test different pond water parameters, soil parameters and pathogenic microbes as given below:
Water Quality parameters: pH, Dissolved Oxygen, Salinity, Alkalinity, Total Hardness, Ammonia,Nitrite, Potassium, Magnesium, Iron, phosphates, H2S, Chlorine, plankton analysis.
Soil Analysis: Organic Carbon, Soil Nitrogen, Soil phosphate, Soil pH.
Microbial Analysis: Total Plate Count, Total vibrio count, Luminescent bacteria.
Disease Screening: WSSV (water & animal), EHP (soil & animal)
Farmers can submit the sample to the respective AOC of their region. The services of the sample collector can also be availed subjected to availability.
Advantages of AOC:
AOCs provide timely assistance to the farmers by offering services very close to the farming clusters for monitoring day to day pond parameters. This results in increased crop success and farmers can save time and spend more time in farming operations. The test charges are reasonable and kept to the bare minimum. Apart from farmers, animal samples from Hatcheries and Processors can also be analyzed for mainly WSSV.
NaCSA AOCs are ICT enabled Aquaculture services related to Input Distribution, Data Management, Training Schedule Management, Advisory services and manage health laboratory services.
Enrollment of new farmers, hatcheries etc with geo tag.
Right advisory on use of farm inputs during culture hence reduce in cost of production.
